Looking past the hero fantasy
The idealized version of who you want to be comes into sharper focus while Neptune is retrograde in Aries. Noble ambitions that made your blood pump and urges to charge ahead gradually settle down to their true size over these months.
Action-minded Aries easily rushes forward when swept up in Neptune's daydreams. Retrograde motion helps the fog thin out. You can clearly see whether you're pursuing a real path or just acting out an appealing hero story.
Courage you can actually see
Are the things you want to do coming straight from your heart, or are you pushed by an idealized image of yourself? Standing up for others is admirable, but burning yourself out every single time doesn't help. Real courage means using your energy wisely and saving some for yourself.
Neptune takes more than one hundred and sixty years to return to Aries, staying for roughly fourteen years. Each year it backtracks from around July through the end of the year. This annual pause trades vague excitement for courage you can actually see and practice.
Feeling let down when passion fades
Ideals you poured yourself into suddenly feel distant and heavy. You might charge ahead to lead a project, only to look back and see nobody followed behind you. High expectations sting when you fall short. You might also feel mysteriously worn out, struggling to move your body even while your mind still urges you to rush.
Breaking ideals into next steps
Things to do: write down your ideals, and note one concrete step right beside each one. Admit when you're tired and actually let yourself rest. Talk with a couple of honest friends, and listen to what they really think about what you're pursuing.
Things to avoid: quitting your job for a goal you can't see clearly yet, or pushing yourself to be everyone's hero. Don't dismiss your past efforts just because of temporary disappointment. Before charging ahead again, wait until Neptune goes direct and the fog clears away.
Sketching a day in your future life
Sketch out the person you want to become in concrete detail during this stretch. What time do they wake up, what kind of work fills the day, and who is there with them? Once you write it all down, pick one small habit you can start right away. Your dream can be big, but your first step needs to touch solid ground.
Remembering to rest after rushing ahead
When enthusiasm runs high, it's easy to forget that your body wears out. Schedule regular downtime over these months, like one evening each week without any plans. On days when you feel exhausted no matter how long you sleep, slow your daily pace and let your body catch up with your mind.
